Details that matter
A 700 mm ring made of 48 turned alabaster beads, threaded on a brass rod with eight lamps sitting behind them.

Bead geometry
Beads are 45 mm and drilled through the centre, so the ring reads as one continuous stone band from below and as separate pieces from the side.

Lamps sit behind the bead line rather than between beads, which avoids bright spots and keeps the ring's outer edge dark.
